When we look in the mirror, the last thing we want to see are excess bulges of fat hanging out and causing the body contours to look uneven and unflattering. Fat may not be a four-letter word, but it sure does make us react like it is. Fat can be especially annoying when it doesn’t go away even when a person practices good habits, such as following a healthy diet and a rigorous exercise regimen. Many have tried diet pills that promise dramatic weight loss and have yet to reach their goals. Stubborn excess fat that does not respond to regular weight-loss methods may be only correctable with surgery. If you have pockets of fat that creates bulges in particular areas of your body, liposculpture can help!

What Is Liposculpture?

Before and After LiposculptureLiposculpture is a surgical procedure designed to effectively remove excess fat from troublesome areas of the
body. The procedure provides permanent fat removal with customizable body contouring results.

Dr. Baker performs liposculpture by making small incisions at the fat removal site(s). A cannula (thin, hollow tube) is inserted through the incisions, and a back-and-forth motion is utilized to loosen up the fat. The excess fat tissue is suctioned out through the cannula that is attached to a vacuum device. The incisions are closed using sutures, and a compression garment is applied to the treatment area and to be worn during recovery.

Am I Ready for Liposculpture?

If you have stubborn fatty deposits you would like to get rid of and are considering liposculpture, it is important to get evaluated by a doctor to find out if you make a good candidate.

Good Liposculpture Candidates:

  • Are in good health
  • Have realistic expectations
  • Are at or near their ideal weight
  • Have good skin elasticity

Liposculpture is not a weight-loss procedure; it is crucial that patients who undergo the surgery are close to their goal weight but have a few pockets of fat they would like to address. During a consultation with Dr. Baker, he can evaluate your anatomy and goals to help you decide on the best procedure for you.
