Benefits of Breast Lift

Laxity of the breasts can cause a sagging, deflated appearance. “Perky” breasts are usually identified by their firm appearance. Lifting, positioning, and supporting your breast tissue not only improves the overall shape of the breasts but creates a fuller and more attractive appearance.

Breast Lift Process
Before Surgery

Before Surgery

  • Your breast journey begins with a consultation where Dr. Baker in Miami analyzes your goals and anatomic needs to develop an appropriate treatment plan.
  • You’ll meet a second time, two weeks before your surgery where before photos are taken, and we confirm your treatment plan. Standard lab work is also performed.
  • Our final meeting takes place one day before your surgery, where we will go over any additional questions you have. You will also be provided with pre-op and post-op care instructions. A detailed surgical design is marked on the patient.
Incision Options

Incision Options

  • Dr. Baker commonly uses the inverted-T incision because it is the most effective treatment for real sagging and leaves no residual breast overhang.
  • The inverted-T is created by placing incisions around the areola, vertically down the lower breast tissue, and horizontally across the breast crease.
  • Milder cases of ptosis can be corrected using a donut technique.
Combining With Implants

Combining With Implants

  • Implants may be combined with a breast lift to restore any lost or lacking volume.
  • Dr. Baker chooses combination patients carefully based on their anatomy and goals.
  • Many post-pregnancy patients opt to combine their breast lift with implants to restore the fullness they commonly lose after nursing.
Addressing Any Concerns You May Have

Immediately following your surgery, you will feel groggy from the anesthesia and your newly shaped breasts might feel uncomfortable. You will experience bruising, redness, and swelling that will last between two and four weeks. Throughout your recovery, you should wear a specialty support bra.

In the initial weeks following your surgery, you should avoid strenuous physical activities, especially anything that applies pressure to the chest. Depending on the level of activity the job involves, most patients can return to work within two weeks. You may be able to resume your regular exercise routine after three to four weeks with your doctor’s permission.
