How to Love Your Body After Having Children

shutterstock_232679125A woman’s body goes through many changes in order to bear children. After childbirth, many mothers go through postpartum depression, and even those who don’t will often become discouraged by their tired, overworked bodies with saggy breasts and stubborn belly fat. If you have become disenchanted with your body after having children, the following suggestions will help you to love your body again.

Eat a Healthy Diet

A healthy diet is difficult enough when you’re on your own, but when you’re caring for children, it can be even easier to forget. Many moms work hard to get their children to eat healthy foods but then forget about themselves. While you are shopping for healthy grocery items to feed your child, remember to pick up enough for yourself so that you can give your own body essential vitamins and nutrients. This will help your mind and body function more efficiently so that you feel healthy and well.

Get Rest

Being a mom is hard work. Every child comes with his or her own set of challenges, and even the easiest children still require effort on your part. As a mother, you are likely sleep deprived and are almost certainly deprived of personal rest and relaxation. Every now and then, let dad take the kids out so that you can rest at home, schedule a babysitter so that you can go out, or go to bed early so that you can give your body some much-needed rest. Rest will give you the physical and emotional energy to get through each day.

Exercise Regularly

Exercise is the opposite of resting, but it is just as essential. Exercise builds up your body and makes it strong. Regular exercise will fortify your body and give you the energy reserves that you need to be the amazing mother you want to be and also feel great about yourself. Especially when combined with a healthy diet and adequate sleep and rest, exercise can help you to look, function, and feel strong, healthy, and happy.

Treat Yourself to a Mommy Makeover

Before and After Mommy MakeoverAll of the above suggestions will help you to feel good about your body after having children. However, they may not bring back the youthful curves you loved before having children. If you are tired of looking at your stretched-out tummy, stubborn fat, and deflated breasts, treat yourself to a Mommy Makeover! The Mommy Makeover can create a firmer abdomen, eliminate localized fat deposits, and enhance your breasts to improve your body shape and help you to truly love your body again.

After having children, consider how a Mommy Makeover could help you to have the beautiful and attractive body shape that you desire. Schedule your personal consultation with Dr. Baker by calling (305) 859-4729 or by filling out our online contact form today.
